Happy Monday! How was your weekend?! Michael and I checked out a new cuban restaurant in our neighborhood, Colada Shop, on Saturday, and you better believe I sat outside in 35 degree weather with a piña colada in hand (who can pass up one of those delicious drinks?!). We also tried out a few new-to-us places in the H Street area, Atlas Brew Works, Joseph Magnus Distillery, and Toki Underground. I’ll definitely be frequenting Colada Shop on the reg, and it was nice to venture out into another neighborhood to check out a few new spots.
Speaking of weekending, let me introduce you to my spring (it’s almost March, right?!) weekend uniform. Distressed denim + white tee + cozy cardigan + airy scarf + these. blush. sneakers. I’ve been on the hunt for a good pair of tennies that are a little nicer than my trusty Converse pair. I spotted these beauties when I was in NYC around the holidays, but I didn’t snag them until a couple of weeks ago. Not only is the color perfect for spring, they’re the lightest pair of sneakers I’ve ever put on my feet. They’re perfect for feeling put together while still being comfortable. As a sizing tip, a lot of reviews suggest ordering a half size down, I ordered both a half size down and my regular size and ended up keeping my normal size 7.
Although we haven’t had a super cold winter here in D.C., it’s still chilly, and I’m sure it will stay that way through March. This blush scarf is the perfect transitional piece. It’s still warm and cozy, but the color gives off a bit of that pre-spring vibe.
